My desire to establish Kelvin Chong - Life Insurance Brokers came about when I realized that, in the financial planning process, risk management in relation to a person’s health and financial well-being was often misunderstood and underserviced. This led to several challenges for individuals when they sought insurance. In many cases, people found it best to forfeit their insurance requirements altogether.
To help these people see the benefit of insurance coverage, I decided to venture into the insurance industry on my own. With my own practice, I thought it would be easier to educate clients about insurance and invest time in their individual needs. And I was right about it!
Kelvin Chong - Life Insurance Brokers has been in business for about twenty successful years now, but on my own, I’ve managed to acquire thirty insightful years of professional experience. In 2018, Amira joined my brokerage as a senior associate, and with her, she brought over twenty years of training and experience to the table. Through her assistance, we managed to take the business to new heights and achieve so much.
When we initially entered this industry, there were many more life insurance companies as well as life insurance agents than there are today. Over the past several years, we noticed a substantial amount of consolidation in the marketplace as well as fewer individuals and firms specializing in life insurance products. New life insurance agents face many hurdles when entering our industry, which has created more opportunities for us.
Being able to provide our clients with financial resources when they need it the most is what keeps us going. We enjoy helping our clients as it enables us to gain their trust in our services and methods and succeed overall as a business. Seeing the relief on their faces when delivering a claim cheque is also very satisfying. Situations like critical illness, a disability, or untimely death can be overwhelming, and being able to offer clients some form of relief is the biggest reward we can ask for.
When a client makes a claim, we take it upon ourselves to go above and beyond to facilitate the claim process and the delivery of the benefit cheque they need in a timely manner. While choosing an insurance coverage, we also make sure that they are completely aware of the extent of the policy provisions and its benefits. This is part and parcel of the customer service we offer.
What really sets us apart from the other brokers is our business philosophy, which is quite simple. When handling our client’s coverage needs, we put their interests first. To ensure their needs receive the attention that they deserve, we do our best to display integrity, competence, trust, and confidentiality while making the most of our experience and knowledge.
When I’m not helping clients with their insurance requirements or financial needs, I enjoy cooking great food and wine. I also like practicing and teaching martial arts, yoga, and overall wellness. Amira enjoys traveling and experiencing new and different cultures and loves spending time with friends and family.
